Backpacks from Mystic and ION, built with beach use in mind. Water-resistant fabrics, drainage where you want it, and separate wet compartments so a soaking rashguard is not sitting against your laptop.

These work as well for commuting and travel as they do for the beach, which is largely the point. Look for a padded laptop sleeve if you want one bag to do everything, and check whether the wet compartment is genuinely sealed or just lined.
